Ce biscuit représente une jeune femme habillée à la mode japonaise : elle porte un long kimono serré à la taille et tombant sur des sandales laissant voir ses orteils. Elle tient dans la main droite un éventail et ses cheveux sont relevés en chignon. Elle se tient légèrement cambrée, la main gauche posée sur la taille. La statuette repose sur un socle où apparaissent des motifs végétaux (herbes, cailloux).
Le sujet dénote, avec un léger décalage, le succès de la mode japonisante à la fin du 19e siècle.

After causing an immediate sensation when it was installed in a sacred precint on the island of Knidos, it inspired many re-creations over the succeding centuries. Unearthed from the underground palace of Leifeng Pagoda in Hangzhou in 2001, it is 68 cm high. The Buddha statue has a high meat bun, spiral hair, slender eyebrows, ears hanging down the shoulders, and three silkworm patterns on the neck. Wearing a double-collared hanging cassock, the hem is covered with a lotus seat. Inside is a monk’s branch, and a silk belt is tied in front of the chest. The left hand caresses the knee, the right hand casts the Dharma seal, and sits on the lotus platform in knotted lotus. Under the lotus pedestal, there are Panlong columns, double-layer Xumizuo and square beds. The coiled dragon goes up around the column, holding up the lotus seat, and the column is embedded in the Xumi seat. There are two flame-style pot doors on each side of Xumizuo.
