Chichen Itza was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the Terminal Classic period. The archeological site is located in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico.
Chichen Itza was a major focal point in the Northern Maya Lowlands from the Late Classic (c. AD 600–900) through the Terminal Classic (c. AD 800–900) and into the early portion of the Postclassic period (c. AD 900–1200). Fan-art from the game Final Fantasy 7!! This is the Cosmo Canyon, one of the cities that can be visited through the game. It was a comission where I was asked to made an stylized and simplified version of the place, and this is how it turned out!
I decided to push the limit of Sketchfab’s capabilities, and added a day-night cycle to the scene. It was a bit tricky, as lamps can’t be animated, at least for now. But I think this works quite nicely. I hope you like it! :D
