Custom ship of my own design. Model does give one warning in just UE5 on import about nearly zero tangents, but that's because one UV has islands close together. I checked it over and it causes no issues or visible errors in Unreal. It doesn't have that warning at all UE4. As this is educational though or for personal use it wasn't much of a concern. As such I have also included a quad version of the model in case anyone wants to edit the unwraps, change the construction, rebake, optimise model, retexture etc without having a ton of triangles to deal with. Model uses weighted normals so no baked edges as they are chamfered. Normal map is for height detail. I had the privilege to work with the super chill and talented teammate, Gabriel Eekenulv, Skyblivion’s Concept Art Lead. Together we produced this grand and regal set of armor. As a historical arms and armor enthusiast, I often time find it difficult to work with many fantasy concept arts. Most designs sacrifice basic understanding and practicality for “cool” aesthetics which make no sense. When I came across Eekenulv’s armor designs, however, I was in awe. His designs are grand, elegant, and “cool”, yet they maintain insights and functionality of armors, a perfect balance between “Realism” and “Suspension of Disbelieve”.
This was one of the most fun project I’ve produced in collaboration with others. Not to mention my Twitch subscribers who took part in submitting poleaxe designs, which eventually developed into the one you see.
