Hey there! This is an old model I decided to finish, i hope you’ll like it. The idea was to make an knight of the Hippotamus order, yes ! i worked with Maya and Zbrush for modeling and rigging. The textures were created with Substance painter. This model was originaly created for CG rendering, explaining the high polycount number.

The style of holding the gun is tacky due to that it makes the gun a bit unstable for the user giving it a hard recoil momentum and an old-school feeling. The gun has two gauge meters one indicating the temperature and another one showing the amount of remaining bullets in the magazine. I wanted to try a colour scheme different from the basic steampunk colours (Golden/Brown), to make it look different from other weapons. This rifle is the last weapon of my steampunk series and holds a dominant position in the project. Making the AK was a big challenge as it was tough to keep the look similar to the original gun and also get the steampunk feel overall, the best I could think of doing without altering the look, was to add extra attachments that give it a steampunk look and feel and using a warm colour palette with wear and tear effect on the body, clippers an exception, its brand new, lol!! Although it was a task to achieve the end product, I enjoyed the whole process as its one of my big time favourite assault rifle.
