The 3D model presents a digital look of a historical costume from a Russian lubok print “A dwarf and a dwarfess” dating to the 18th century. The costume was made for a theatrical performance «Indecent is decent» (Ivanovo State Museum of Local History named after D.G. Burylin, October 30, 2019 – March 1, 2020). The 3D reconstruction was made by using historical block patterns, 2D scans of textile materials and 3d scans of contemporary actors. Anthroscan, Clo3D, SubstancePainter and Unreal Engine 4 software programs were used. Nevertheless, hope is not lost with the uprising of the wool rebellion and their operation “Sheep in a wolf’s clothing” which consists of hijacking mech sentinels from the wolf army, and infiltrating into their HQ for one final blow towards freedom!
I had a lot of fun in this project that started as a simple “let’s turn a bad pun into 3D” during lunch breaks and escalated to a fully textured, rigged and animated character.
