A musket is a long gun that appeared in the 16th century and was the most used defensive weapon in a fortress such as Fort Lillo. The walls of a West European fortress were designed for musket fire. A bandolier contained a small poach for bullets, several wooden tubes with the right amount of gunpowder and a metal flask with ignition powder. A soldier using a musket was called a musketeer.

Loop to go over shoulder strap on top edge. This uniform is devoid of ordinance marks and is thought to perhaps have been made a local Chinese tailor in Hong Kong where Bugler Drewett was serving at the time.
