Hair cards were created using Maya Xgen. The 3D model presents a digital reconstruction of solid and riveted rings of archaeological mail armour. To create 3D models of the rings, we used polygonal modelling functions of Blender software. In order to record the relevant measurements of the mail rings, we used a list of parameters. This list includes 11 parameters for a riveted ring and four parameters for a solid ring. Vasa was a Swedish warship that capsized and sank off Beckholmen in Stockholm’s inlet on its maiden voyage, August 10, 1628. After some early unsuccessful attempts to rescue her in the 17th century, Vaasa was largely forgotten.
The ship’s approximate position remained known until the middle of the 19th century, but no serious attempts were made to salvage it. In 1956, the amateur researcher and engineer Anders Franzén, together with the diver Per Edvin Fälting, succeeded in re-establishing Vaasa’s exact position and after several years of marine archeological excavations and preparations, Vasa was lifted above the water surface on April 24, 1961.
Since 1990 the ship is included in a permanent exhibition in Stockholm. I wanted to take a stab at making something less boxy than my usual models with ornate features. I spent the last month on and off making this flintlock pistol. Modeled in Blender 2.83. Beveled normals and ornate engravings were baked in Blender, the ornate engravings were made in Affinity Designer. The rest of the texturing was done in Substance Painter. This is also the first time I sculpt a skull. I am super happy with how everything turned out!

PBR texture set in 1k, 2k, and 4k.
Each set Contains: Color Map, Metalic Map, Normal Map, and Roughness Map.
