A model of Caesarean legionnary, those commanded by Julius Caesar during his gaulish war… And the final stage of the evolution of legionnaires before the breastplates as we imagine them today.
Theses equipments were in use approximately from the reforms of Marius in 107 BC -> to the beginning of the Principate around 27 AD.
After the dissolution of ranks in the army (Hastati, Velites, Principes, Triarii) and the opening of recruitment to larger social classes along with the provision of equipment at the Consul’s expense… All of this led to an overall standardization within the ranks of the roman army.
The main goal was to create an army without class distinction, where 5000 soldiers would be more or less equal to each other.

This is an updated version of my fictional tank model, Legionnaire. This is the Mk. 1 version, and would date to around a 1984 introduction based on the technologies/features present in the design.

I wanted to create a beast of burden that would inhabit more deserted areas. I wanted to play with the idea that it was a shelled creature, with water sacks for survival. This was created as part of Ashleigh Warners’ ‘Creating Stylized Game Assets’ course available through CGMA. I completed my first draft last November, but I went back over it and made as many changes as possible to get it to a place I felt confident in sharing.
This is MEEPO, or the Mega Express Espresso Processing Operator 3000. The initial idea was to have this retro-futuristic coffee-station diorama that sold a particular kind of mundane story (even if it was in a sort of space-setting).
Either way, this is my first fully-completed hand-painted project and I couldn’t be happier! It was created through a mix of Blender, 3Ds Max, 3D Coat, Substance Painter and Photoshop!
