My daughter found a dead hornet (Vespa crabro) body in our warehouse, and I decided to give this scan a try.
A couple of years ago, hornets made a nest in our yard, and it was pretty much impossible to walk around and not bump your head into one of these.
In terms of scans, the wings are the hardest parts, I’ve remodelled parts of them in Blender, but the work is far from finished.
I’m impressed with what Metashape did with the scanned material.

This angered the god Poseidon who sent a monster creature, Cetus (Ketos) to torment people of ancient Ethiopia. The beautifull princess was to be eaten by a sea moster to soothe the anger of the god! In the very last moment a hero - Perseus flew (on Hermes winged sandals) and saved the princess from the vile beast.
Here is where the official myth ends and my own artistic interpretation of it begins. When researching Andromeda, I could only find white, pale damsels in distress. Angered by this I wanted to depict Andromeda as a true African princess. I disliked the concept of a helpless damsel and decided to give her some character. I also wanted to portray Ketos as a bewildered sea dragon not an angry whale.
