As the other iconic aircraft of “Crimson Skies,” the Hughes P21-J Devastator simultaneously possesses a fantastical X-wing look, but also a “this could totally exist" feel. I’ve been obsessed with the setting and story of Crimson Skies ever since I first set eyes on the FASA tabletop game on a shelf of a game shop at the mall way back in 1998. One of the things that compelled me to experiment with and learn 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering as a hobbyist was seeing those awesome 3D renders of the fantastical aircraft of the game’s alternate 1930s setting on the back of the box and wondering: “how’d they do that?” So, finally, I’ve tackled recreating some of the planes myself! Hi everyone, this is my take on the adorable Ganyu when she was a child. Hope I did not miss the hype after Xian Yun’s character trailer. For those who doesn’t know why she was holding a windmill, here’s a summary. Both Xian Yun and Ganyu was walking pass a windmill store and our little Ganyu took interest of windmill displayed at the shop. Being young and mature as she was, she does not want to trouble Xian Yun. Xian Yun noticed and built a windmill toy for Ganyu. The wind is a bit strong though, it blew Ganyu’s hoodie back. Despite all that, our little Ganyu was delighted playing with her new toy.

The game has a low-poly aesthetic and i wanted to try to make a more photoreal version and had to make some adjustments to the design to fit the change.
