I uploaded this model to test how SketchFab renders something like this. The tricky part was figuring out how to get the silver foil on the top lable to be reflective. Got it to work :-) The cream looks like glossy plastic, but it’s a real-time render and gets the point across. I didn’t correctly UV map the underside because my renders were always on a table - so it didn’t matter. The harquebusier was the most common form of cavalry found throughout Western Europe during the early to mid-17th century. Early harquebusiers were characterised by the use of a type of carbine called a “harquebus”. In England, harquebusier was the technical name for this type of cavalry, though in everyday usage they were usually simply called ‘cavalry’ or ‘horse’. In Germany they were often termed Ringerpferd, or sometimes Reiter, in Sweden they were called lƤtta ryttare.
The armour comprises a Pot Helmet with two-piece skull joined by a low-comb, neck-guard (Lobster tail) of simulated lames and pointed peak or visor with three-bar guard hinged at each side to allow it to be raised when not needed. To create 3D models of the rings, we used polygonal modelling functions of Blender software. In order to record the relevant measurements of the mail rings, we used a list of parameters.
