As I am a huge fan of cultural heritage and ancient relics, I decided to create a full body visualisation of Neferteti with Metahuman and Unreal 5. While working on that, it came to my mind remake the well known bust with focus on the clothing, since the bodymesh wasn’t created by me. But I created all the accessoires and clothes, using Cinema 4D, Blender, Zbrush and Substance Painter.

The props I chose are a candlestand, globe, scale, candle holder, locked book, and a hourglass. My inspiration for these props came from an old intrest in strange tabletop items like globes, hourglasses, and scales. I remember as a kid staring at maps and fiddling with hourglasses watching the sand dribble down to each side. This is a model of an 18th Century English hanger sword that I made originally using RealityCapture. I’ve returned to my original model, retopologized it, reworked the textures, and cleaned it up in some spots that needed manual attention. I’m quite happy with the result, and look forward to incorporating retopology in to my workflow more frequently.
The blade is in excellent condition, and the hilt is a finely crafted work of silver. Both maintain an almost mirrored finish, presenting an enormous challenge to capture through photogrammetry. The initial model turned out okay considering the conditions, but several parts of the model had issues with continuity of the normals due to the nature of the more random topology of the model RealityCapture produced. This results in razor edges looking rough and jagged, as well as the smooth mirrored surfaces appearing lumpy and unfinished.

This was created as part of Ashleigh Warners’ ‘Creating Stylized Game Assets’ course available through CGMA. I completed my first draft last November, but I went back over it and made as many changes as possible to get it to a place I felt confident in sharing.
This is MEEPO, or the Mega Express Espresso Processing Operator 3000. The initial idea was to have this retro-futuristic coffee-station diorama that sold a particular kind of mundane story (even if it was in a sort of space-setting).
Either way, this is my first fully-completed hand-painted project and I couldn’t be happier! It was created through a mix of Blender, 3Ds Max, 3D Coat, Substance Painter and Photoshop!
