Thai statue of a male warrior with a bow and quiver. The Sandstone material makes this statue light and relatively fragile. Equipment used: Canon 600D (used around 175 photos in a phototent+turntable setup with continuous dual softbox lighting). Software used: Agisoft Photoscan, RAW photo editor, Blender,Instant Meshes and Substance Painter. Mesh: The Original Scan had around 22M faces/triangles and was decimated to around 4.5M before baking a normal map from it. The Lowpoly has 20K triangles. Texture: the texture in the preview is an 8K texture, i've also made a 2k and 4k texture. If you want a good view of the scan’s quality, check the ‘Matcap+Surface’ option in the model inspector. Remember you can adjust the lighting by holding ALT + Left mouse button. Ce biscuit représente une jeune femme habillée à la mode japonaise : elle porte un long kimono serré à la taille et tombant sur des sandales laissant voir ses orteils. Elle tient dans la main droite un éventail et ses cheveux sont relevés en chignon. Elle se tient légèrement cambrée, la main gauche posée sur la taille. La statuette repose sur un socle où apparaissent des motifs végétaux (herbes, cailloux).
Le sujet dénote, avec un léger décalage, le succès de la mode japonisante à la fin du 19e siècle.

A small, limestone figure of the soldier Sa-Djehuty son of Sat-Djehuty from the ancient Egyptian site of Abydos. Excavated by John Garstang in 1908, the statuette was found in tomb 643. It likely dates to the Second Intermediate Period.
Measuring just under 20cm, Sa-Djehuty wears a heavy wig and a kilt with a plain belt. Prior to excavation, the figure was broken and has now been repaired. The appearance of the two parts is noticeably different, with the upper half appearing bleached, while the lower half bears extensive traces of paint around the bands of hieroglyphs. Red paint is visible on the legs and torso.
The text reads “An offering which the King gives to Osiris for the ka of the living one of the town, Sa-Djehuty, born of Sat-Djehuty, by his sister who causes that his name live, the lady of the house, Beki.
Snape (1994) suggests that the kilt is indicative of a military procession, read more here.
