This concept was inspired in the old snes game called Metal Warrior. Honor is a futuristic gladiator, full rigged and ready to animate character. The concept was created in zbrush, textures in substance painter and everything else in maya. The model is high poly and include all the UDIMs, with albedo, roughness, metalness e emission maps. This project is roughly 4 weeks in the making and is by far the most fun I’ve been with modeling a character. I modeled this in Zbrush and modeled the props and weapons in Maya. Hair was a bit of a challenge but I was inclined to keep it simple. I textured Ram Warrior in Substance Painter and posed him in Zbrush using ZSpheres. Here is a character I made from my own concept. A little bit of a mash-up between Nordic and Orcish styles. Got kinda carried away with fur and fur cards here but the end result looks alright I think wink
Had a lot of fun and discovered a bunch of techniques during this project. In the future, fur will be made a little bit differently (found a few ways to make it faster and better looking). But for this character I’ll leave it like that.
I’m not a concept artist, but that was a good practice and I will definitely do this kind of concepting in the future!
