Original body was created in Makehuman. I took inspiration from mobile game Galaxy of Heroes and pictures on Google. The Warszawa M-20 model 200 passenger car, manufactured between 1957-60, is a version of the Warszawa M20, which itself was manufactured from 1951 on a licence from the Soviet Union but modernised by Polish designers. It has a design typical of the 1940s, with a classical drivetrain arrangement.
An inline, four-cylinder flathead petrol engine is placed at the front and is connected to a three-speed transmission that propels the rear axle via a propeller shaft. None of it is meant to hold up in closeups, but it looks great from afar. The whole thing is ~5.5k tris, so if you want a hangar full or a fleet of them, it won’t slow down your scene. Perfect for all your imperial needs!
PBR textures made in Substance Painter. The exterior is 2k, the interior is 1k, the pilot is 512x512.
Cutting in the windows a couple years after the outside model was done made for some very messy topology around them, but the overall ship is still low poly enough, and no one will notice. The glass is also currently single-sided, just to be more performant than trying to have glass with thickness and refraction. I wanted to work on a story from my childhood that hasn’t been turned into a dozen different movie-versions, and since I´m a huge fan of stars, glowing things and a little pinch of magic, the tale “The Star-Money” seemed perfect to me.
It’s written by the Grimm brothers and tells the story of a homeless girl who is pure and kind by heart. As a reward for her kindness the stars fall from the sky and turn into gold.
