This piece was a texture/poly count optimization study, and was inspired by the computers in DOOM 2016. I just wanted to see how much detail was achievable with textures alone. I ended up with an extremely low poly model that I am really happy with! This is one of the Ancient Lion Pillars that I had converted into a 3D Model with the help of Zbrush. Basically, I had made the pillar in Maya and then the lion’s skull in the Zbrush (This is my first time to work on it). Then I had combined them up, to put some cracks on the pillar so that it would have an ancient look. Then the same thing as it is (Low poly, Unwrapping and Baking). The texture have two variants one with dirty jaw spots and the other without it, comes with 4k, 2k and 1k textures for both variants : diffuse , normal , roughness (dry and wet) ,height/displacement and AO maps , baked normal map from a high poly model and place it in the low poly model , uv wrapped it manually . Eyes and tongue , all is in one texture except for the barbs . Comes with blend file and the textures attached in rar. I’ve also specifically make sure that the blade itself is still pristine perfect while the rest are worn, indicating the master craftsmanship of the elves. This is made for the mod game Lord of the Ring Conquest: Reimagined. It is heavily reduced. I stumbled across an amazing concept of this bugbear by Jaemin Kim and thought it’d be the perfect opportunity to make a full character from a concept. I started by sculpting the whole body in ZBrush and then retopologized using the Zsphere tool. I then went on to unwrap him in 3ds Max, texture him in Substance Painter, finally using Maya to rig and do the simple breathing animation. This model was used in a rendered photo that I submitted to the 2018 (Edit: 2019) APS Metro show in Abuquerque as part of the “Digital Photography/Special Techniques” category. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model. P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad. Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well.
