This project feels like the reimaging of two separate projects I’ve done in the past. Mountain top castle, and lighthouse island. Both projects that at the time I was pleased with, but looking back on I felt weren’t my best. I liked their premises a lot so I went ahead and merged the two together. Thus Castle Island was born! Now for this scene, I did something I don’t often do when It comes to modelling scenes. I purchased pre-existing work. I know! Crazy, but I was having a strange amount of trouble modelling grass, I couldn’t get anything that looked “grass” you know? I found an awesome little collection pack of low poly natural and organic models. Something I do tend to struggle with making so I was in awe that I found something that fit my style and could be a great leg up in terms of things I struggle with. Definitely going to see if I can leverage these assets in the future. A building built by the Romans during their occupation of Britain (43 - 410 CE) - typical of a town house in Londinium (Roman London) - established in 47 - 50 CE. The house would have been abandoned when the Romans left Britain and would have started to fall into disrepair but may have become occupied by early Anglo Saxons in the 5th or 6th Century. Following frequent attacks the Vikings occupied the city in 871 CE until it was re-taken by the Saxons in 886 under the leadership of Kind Alfred of Wes (Alfred the Great). The model shows the house in a state of disrepair but perhaps with some renovations - by Vikings or Saxons - and some Viking chairs up on the balcony! This is my first human character in a realisitc style I made for a school exam. We had to make a character from a celebrity, I choose my favorite actor Mads Mikkelsen and decided to turn him into a gentleman thief a bit like Arsene Lupin. I used zbrush for the high poly sculpt and the low poly 3D coat and maya for the Uv’s, skinning and export setup Substance painter for the texturing I also integreted my character into a UE4 scene It was super great to make and I learn a lot from it, even if I’m not really satisfied since the concept is kind of simple, I wasn’t to confident for making a complexe character because I’m still a beginer, but with all the things I learned the next one will be much better. This version has no pose and no hat and mask for a better view of the details of the face.
