A ship from the ’90s Expanded Universe, the I7 Howlrunner was a small starfighter developed by Incom Corporation (the same manufacturers as the X-wing) for the Empire. Probably best-known from the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, I stayed pretty faithful to the design, but made a couple of angles slightly more exciting and a little less boxy. Out-of-universe, the ship’s design is probably an homage to the Buck Rogers Thunderfighter, concepted by Ralph McQuarrie, who also worked on Star Wars’ fighters. I wanted to make sure my version felt Star Wars-y enough, so I textured it in an extremely similar to the style of the OT X-wings. I hope you enjoy this slightly obscure ship model! This motorcycle was scanned with both Eva and Space Spider. Eva allowed for fast and easy acquisition of the overall shape, while Space Spider was used to scan the intricate geometry of the wheels and the sides. We first sprayed the bike with anti-gloss spray. The seat and gas tank had no features, but we stuck a couple of pieces of masking tape to them and that was enough to ensure stable. We didn’t have to add an extra features to the parts we scanned with Space Spider since all of these mechanical parts had rich geometry. There were a lot of these parts though and the shapes were quite complex, consequently it took quite a long time to scan them all. One of the highlights of the scanning was the bike chain: due to its thin and repetitive shape, we expected it to be a challenging object, but Spider’s scanning depth was deep enough to capture the background behind it. Scanning time: Eva - 15 min. Space Spider - 1,5 hours Processing time: 30 minutes for Eva data only, 3,5 hours for both Eva and Spider data 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 1042148 polygons.

An update of my old low poly TIE fighter model, with windows cut in and a low poly interior, complete with pilot, added- adds a ton of depth and realism. None of it is meant to hold up in closeups, but it looks great from afar. The whole thing is ~5.5k tris, so if you want a hangar full or a fleet of them, it won’t slow down your scene. Perfect for all your imperial needs! PBR textures made in Substance Painter. The exterior is 2k, the interior is 1k, the pilot is 512x512. Cutting in the windows a couple years after the outside model was done made for some very messy topology around them, but the overall ship is still low poly enough, and no one will notice. The glass is also currently single-sided, just to be more performant than trying to have glass with thickness and refraction. “There it was. A sudden open space, surrounding two giant trees. No, the stems were connected at the base, this was one tree! To top this improbability, every side carried a tiny building, each different in shape. The left one was an ordinary shape for a house, albeit shot and crooked. The other one looked like a tiny castle tower, disconnected from its castle. From the top of the pointed roof a thick branch emerged. Another branch on the side pierced its roof tiles. I created the base Delorean DMC as a starting point, I then went on to create the Back To The Future movie additions. It was a great project to work on as I was able to base my design on an actual real-world example of a Movie replica Car. After watching Ready Player One I wanted to ‘update’ the model to reflect the changes made in the movie as they looked pretty cool on the big screen, who doesn’t want K.I.T.T additions on a Delorean anyhow? I took the base DeLorean model and some of the BTTF additions I have already added and went all out on the detail, motivated by the amazing Ready Player one visuals. I’m a fan of cars from NFS, NFS2, NFS3: hot pursuit. I like to create accurate replicas of the cars from these games. And i styled this McLaren F1 according to the NFS2 version. For work, i used a mid-poly model, for the possibility of easy use for games, but replaced all the small details of the exterior with HD details in order to achieve quality and good appearance. I created an exact (ND 4 SPD) license plate, some textures and quality wheels. Just as in all my cars, i always create the correct reflecting geometry of mirrors, and the wheels will never hang in the void (like many 3D models and cars from games), because i really love the cars vhich i make.
