Granite statue of the god Khonsu with the features of Tutankhamun. Eighteenth Dynasty. Original found in the Temple of Khonsu at Karnak. On display for years in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (CG 38488) and now on display in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Cairo (NMEC 838). Height is 2.52 m. I uploaded the sword alone previously and planned to upload its sheath separately, but eventually decided put them together so it can have a complete showcase as a set. Both high res model and all the details made in Zbrush, painted the texture in substance painter. The animal on the sheath at first was just flat shapes with no details on it, and I thought I finished the model. Later on I looked at it again and again, eventually decided I should add more details and to make the animal figures more alive and to give them more characters, since this was a sword made for Paraoh’s battles, it just has to have that spirit. Painting the texture was another challenge since there are just so many details on the original antique. Made this piece with a heart of awe, and it was a great learning experience!
