A 14th century farmer using a heavy plough pulled by oxen. I was approached by BuildersBrew to create a small diorama of a Medieval Farmer ploughing the fields, this was based off of some references provided and is to be used within the immersive mobile app for The Chester House Estate. Conservation with the overall tricount, texture space and alpha usage in the project was important to make sure the model could load well in the application, the texture for the character was 4k for this render however this was reduced to 2k in the application and the overall tricount came in at around 70k for the whole project. Tried to keep it as low poly as humanly possible while still making the details stand out. This character model was part of a game project for my final course this spring. This character was the main character in our game “Jeniah”, and she was the one the players played as. Our game project was very inspired by Souls-games like Dark Souls and a little bit of Bloodborne, and so I did my best to try and get the rigth “feeling” for the characters. For this one I had a sketched concept art of the upper-half of the body made by one of my teammates, but I had to edit the shoulderpads to fit the game more, so the ones in this final model are edited. The rest I came up with on my own. I had four days to make this character as well. Base body modeled in Zbrush. Cloth in Marvelous Designer, armour, hairplanes, and retopologization in Maya. Textured in Substance Painter. For the hairplanes, I rendered the textures from creating hair clumps in XGen and then using XNormals to get the different textures 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 67808 polygons.
