The RotJ version’s biggest difference is the different barrel grip design and no techy pieces attached to the left side. ANH also has a lot of variation, partly because those techy pieces fell off some of the props, partly because they just used mismatched parts in general. Aside from being slightly simplified (eg. I have a smooth wire instead of 2 curly wires to save on polycount, there is no trigger to avoid clipping—although many screen-used ones in ANH also have no trigger!), I also made a conscious change to add back in the one missing grip from the left side of the barrel in ANH where there was a bayonet attachment and a row of holes instead. I spent hours fixing miniscule things, trying to get the perfect alignment when in reality it literally didn’t matter as long it was good enough. The design itself was mainly inspired by Futurama Robots and Team Fortress 2 MVM robots. Anyways I’m happy with what I’ve created.
