Copper alloy statuette of Horus the Child (also known as Harpocrates) represented walking wearing a crown with uraeus. On one side of the hand is a loop to which was attached a side-lock, denoting his youth. Eyes are inlaid with gold. His right forefinger is held up to his mouth. The feet rest on a rectangular pedestal inscribed in hieroglyphs petitioning Horus the Child to grant life to Djed-ankh-ptah, son of Hor. Described by Professor Percy Newberry as being of a “very fine technique” and dating to Saite Period. The Ename crosier is the top part of the staff of the abbot of the abbey of Ename, Belgium. The object has the status of Flemish Masterpiece and was found in 1995 during the archaeological excavations of the abbey. This digital restoratation shows the state of the crosier after being broken and repaired, somewhere between 1175 and 1390.
