This is both a personal project and also a school project rolled into one! For my class, I was tasked with creating an object for my portfolio. Creative freedom! Since creating my Shady House VRChat world about a year ago, I’ve been thinking about making a custom pool table to put in it, so the project fell into place!
I designed a high end pool table meant to exist in the pokémon universe, embelished with one of each type of Z-Crystal in place of normal sights. The carvings on the sides are inspired by the four Guardian Deities that watch over the islands of Alola. Then, I trashed it with paint and custom carvings. I imagined Team Skull getting ahold of something fancy like this and channeled what I thought they’d do. This is a recent project of mine, an attempt to take some old pre-college concept drawings and make something out of them. Ultimately it was an excuse to freehand paint a lot of filigree detail in a couple different styles (one style for the steel parts, another for the wood/pommel). Painting filigree is incredibly satisfying! All the geometry and baking was done in Blender, and the first pass of materials also, then I moved over to Substance Painter for the detailing.
As for the sword itself, the profile is based on a German Landsknecht zweihänder, but with an even longer grip, taking it almost into the polearm realm. It would be used similarly, with continuous sweeping and spinning to take best advantage of its size, but can be used almost like a pike if the wielder was up against a single opponent, or a mounted enemy 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 7156 polygons.

I wanted to remake Katarina’s base ASU model after Minagami’s concept) while also combining some official depictions of her accross media. The design choices are approximately an average with some of my own preferences since there are a few inconsistencies. After Ahri’s ASU, I feel like Katarina, being one of Leagues popular poster champions and older than Ahri deserves an update to follow up and really bring to life the lore in her comic and modernize her visuals! This is an on-going project with more modernizations of her skins to come. Stay tuned!
