  Ware of the Worlds Tripod 3D Model 2023-11-04
This was a VRChat compatible avatar commissioned by a Private Client. Based on the Tripod from the 2000s War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. The rigging was quite tricky as I had to hide a humanoid skeleton inside the body to get the arms to work properly. Quite pleased with the results. The legs have a custom animation as well to give proper locomotion. Thanks so much to AORV and their fantastic reference. Hello all! My name’s Fletcher. I’m a new character artist on the team. Here’s one of the polished armor sets I just finished. This is the final model and textures that will be used in-game. I’m using Sketchfab web-based 3D viewer to preview my models and the team is considering using this method to display progress for various assets in the future. Having the ability to have an interactive viewer that allows you to pan and rotate a model in real time is a very helpful and immersive way to show our work. Sketchfab’s presentation renderer is different than our game renderer,  so assets may appear differently in game right now; but our goal is to match in game visuals as closely to this as possible.
