The Palmse distillery has been in more or less the same location since 1736. The first building was made of wood, but the first stone distillery was raised already in 1774. The present bulky building with its 33-meter chimney was built in the 1860s and 1870s, and was not powered by a water wheel, but by steam. In 1890, Kotov, the governorate engineer, completed drawings for supplement the distillery with a new boiler room, but his project was never realised. When Lahemaa National Park became the owner of Palmse manor in 1973, the distillery was already mostly in ruins. It was renovated by 1995 and is now a hotel 3D Model is ready to download for free

In the eastern part of the mansion to the left there is a guest room, the blue bedchamber, furnished and decorated in Gustavian style. The wall covering, an oil-painted tapestry from the 1790s, is a simplified variant of the wallpaper in the atrium on the other side of the hall. The bed with Sina hangings of mosquito nets, the dressing table covered with white cotton cloth, the veneered desk and the seating furniture signed by Stockholm chairmaker Erik Ohrmark are all good representatives of the Gustavian style. Per Hilleström’s oil painting, dated 1775, gives an idea of how the ladies of the time were dressed. The blade-decorated tile stove originates from a Stockholm house.

In the red chamber or nursery, a decorated Carolingian wooden roof was found during the dismantling behind the white distempered, cardboard-covered roof, which at the rebuilding Skansen choosed not to hide, despite the caracteristic baroque ornamentation fitting rather poorly with the graceful wallpaper from the 1790s. The furniture has a general 18th century character without emphasized Rococo or Gustavian dl ag. This applies to both the chairs, the asparagus bed from Haga, the smaller bed from Grönsö in Uppland, the small doll bed and the rocking horse. The doll’s cabinet’s painted room furnishings are partly in Rococo and partly in Gustavian style.

The Baroness’ antechamber and bedroom, are both decorated and furnished in Gustavian style with some details of an older character Rococo style. So e.g. are the door tops from the middle of the 18th century, and the armchairs in the antechamber as well as the gilded console table between the windows are characterized by Rococo line play. The antechamber table is signed by Lars Nordin and the hammer piano by Pehr Lindholm, both in Stockholm.
In the bedchamber, the main object is a pull-out bed with curtains of printed linen fabric (reprint after original in Stockholm Castle). The bed is painted in a reddish-brown color, which apparently wants to give the illusion of mahogany. On the cloth-covered dressing table, which is a reconstruction with the guidance of contemporary, cans and bottles of paintings typical of the time, stand in front of a simple mirror from 1794.
