This is the same handgun that’s used by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics team, which entered service from 2002 to present. Interestingly, LAPD SWAT Kimbers feature custom engraved markings on the slide and has a special serial number “KLA114XXX”. KLA stands for “Kimber Los Angeles”, 114 is the police radio SWAT code, and XXX are the 3 unique serial numbers.
