In-world description from the forum: The Lockheed C.80 “Murciélago", Fleet Air Defense Interceptor. This is based on going as fast as possible for as long as possible, while still managing to carry a sufficient amount of ordinance. The plane was also designed for potentially taking on multiple other roles.
