This character was based off of a concept drawing by Jelle Gijsberts as well as a tutorial by user Zachary1999. I approached the model using some of my own modeling techniques in blender, unwrapping in blender, and texturing using Substance Painter. The Idle animation was done via Mixamo. This time I wanted to take my skills to the test and make an entire enviroment in a pixely PS1 style. It was quite the undertaking but I feel that it turned out quite well! I was inspired by those early 3d/2d fighting games like “King Of Fighters Neowave” and such, therefore the stage is designed to only be viewed from one restricted angle.
