Iconic Jordan shoe in collaboration with one of the greatest designers of all time, Virgil Abloh. This is a custom colourway, all pink with light blue accents on the sole. This model is a 1:1 replication of the original. All dimensions, angles, and curves are the same as the real life counterpart. The shoe is subdivision ready with a base polycount of 53,690 polys per shoe. The mesh uses four texture sets, all at 4096x4096 resolution, with the following maps in use: Base Color, Metallic, Roughness, Normal. The base color map contains the transparency information. There is an optimized, One Mesh version which has a lower polycount, 26,413 polys per shoe. This was achieved by removing small stitches and smoothing out the sole of the shoe. Ski jumper Janne Ahonen has won two individual World Championship titles and several more in team competitions. He has also taken two Olympic silver medals in the team event.
Ahonen’s smartwear shoes are equipped with a measuring system that gives feedback to the athlete and the coach after each jump. Sensors in the shoe collect data on movements and pressures of the foot. After each jump the data is used in analysing the speed, timing and flight trajectory of the jump.
Janne Ahonen used these shoes in the 2007–2008 season, when he won his fifth Four Hills Tournament title. 3D scan of a mount of a shoebill (Balaeniceps rex), that can stand up to 1.2 meters. Its name refers to the enormous beak that resembles a shoe. In Southern Sudan B. rex inhabits swamps and lakeshores where papyrus and reeds grow. This material is used to build their nests. This specimen of the rare African bird comes from the Bahr el Ghazal estuary in Sudan and was donated to the NHM Vienna in 1913.
The Shoebill is Number 76 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 30 of the NHM Vienna.
