This is a project for the Academy of Art University's 3D Modeling for Games course. It's also as historically accurate a “viking" house recreation as I could make, rather than going with the Hollywood take. The loom, grindstone and hnef tavl game board I am particularly proud of. It's a game ready asset at this point, although I would like higher resolution textures if I ever use it for anything (the course limited texture size.) A set of stylized viking sword and shield, the best companions of the norse.
Herløv “Glory” is a standard viking longsword that is 105cm in length, with a bladelength of 85cm in length, built with brass hilt and blackwood. Alongside a solid. sturdy steel blade.
Yggdrasill “World Tree” is a viking round shield that is 90cm in diameter. Made of strong oak wood planks, raw iron and bronze screws.

The Skuldelev ships are a group of five well preserved 11th century ships from the Viking period, found in the Roskilde Fjord in Denmark near the town of Skuldelev. Skuldelev 2 was a large ocean going longship, a war vessel probably known as a Skeid - the type of vessel also known in the sagas as “dragon ships”. From analyzing the wood of the ship archaeologists were able to determine the ship had been built in Ireland around the 1040’s CE, the furthest away of all the Skuldelev ships. This digital recreation is based on the ‘The Sea Stallion from Glendalough’, a full scale reconstruction made by the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum.
