The founding member of the small pterosaur family Nyctosauridae, Nyctosaurus is often seen as a contemporary of the more famous and somewhat similar genus Pteranodon. They are also related, being members of the much larger group Ornithocheiroidea. They are both present in the Niobrara Formation of Kansas, with Nyctosaurus living through a small part of the late Santonian Stage of the Late Cretaceous, about 85 million years ago. This is a carving found in the Ta Prohm temple in Cambodia that bears a striking resemblance to a Stegosaurus type dinosaur. Ta Prohm temple was built about the late 12th and early 13th centuries (1186) by King Jayavarman VII.
This naturally brings up the question, “How would an artist only a thousand years ago know what a stegosaurus looked like, unless he had seen one alive or was told what it looked like by someone else who had seen one alive?”

Scanned using a Nikon D850 with a 35mm prime and an Xrite color chart.
Images were processed using Adobe Lightroom and calibrated to the color chart in ADOBE RGB colorspace.
Scan was completed in Epic Games Reality Capture.
Scan geometry was processed in Autodesk 3ds Max using the retopology modifier to get to an accurate polycount to be subdivided to as close to 100millon polys as possible.
Max was also used to unwrap into UVW layouts.
The resulting retopoed and UVw’d geo was re-imported into reality capture and base color info was reprojected.
The resulting geometry was imported into Maxon Zbrush for clean-up and minor restoration.
Mesh Maps were baked in Marmoset Toolbag 4.
Those maps and the maps from the reality capture were imported into Adobe Substance Painter for the creation of PBR texture sets for Sketchfab, Unity/URP, and Unreal 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 382952 polygons.

This is my game ready mesh of Spinosaur with custom pattern. I really like dinosaurs and after completed Monster Hunter I had a lot of inspiration there, so I decided to create one of my favourite monster ;) In this model I tried to make realistic model as much, as possible.
I want to make the bestiary of my creatures that I created.
According to my interpretation, the Spinosaurs lives in the highlands near the volcanoes. Their pattern growing on their back effectively deters other predators and thanks to this they can easly hunt their favorite meal. They weren’t big, but certainly belonged to the most aggressive and most bloodthirsty dinosaurs, they never let a prey escape from their sharp claws.
