A short dogfight between Fokker Dr.1 and Sopwith Camel. The stylized plane model was part of an assignment of the Game Art course at DAE. I had a lot of fun creating the plane so I decided to make a short animation aswell! Modelled and animated in 3ds max, all textures were made in photoshop. This is the final version of my first 3D assignment for Howest DAE.
I had a lot of fun working on it, especially the texturing, as we were now allowed to use anything like substance painter, marmoset etc. Everything had to either be done in photoshop or maya and we could pretty much only use an albedo and some transparency. It was a challange to get the textures looking good without any roughness or normals, but I think I learned a lot from it.
