Foreign service pith helmet, worn during the Boer War. A Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry badge in red with white embroidered text ‘Cornwall' surmounted by a bugle. Belonging to Serjeant George, a Cornishman from Mylor, first served with 1st Battalion DCLI and saw action in the Tirah Campaign (1897/8, in modern day Pakistan). He moved to 2nd Battalion and served with them through the Boer War. This item originates from the collection at Bodmin Keep Musuem, Cornwall, UK. The model was created by Purpose3D. Upper portion of a limestone statue of Thutmose III from Deir el-Bahri displayed in the Cairo Museum. The torso of the statue without the face was found in the early 20th century and now is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The face was found during excavations at Deir el-Bahri by the Polish Expedition in the 1960s and is in the Cairo Museum collections. Casts were made of each poriton of the statue and exchanged between the institutions. Today the original face and cast of the torso can be seen in Cairo and the original torso and cast of the face can be seen in New York.
Created from 113 images (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.7.5. Access to the back of the statue was difficult and repairs to the reconstructed mesh were made in Blender 2.92.

A musket is a long gun that appeared in the 16th century and was the most used defensive weapon in a fortress such as Fort Lillo. The walls of a West European fortress were designed for musket fire. During the 17th century, muskets used matchlock ignition (gunpowder was ignited by a slow-burning piece of cord). Only around 1700, they are replaced by flintlock muskets. A bandolier contained a small poach for bullets, several wooden tubes with the right amount of gunpowder and a metal flask with ignition powder. A soldier using a musket was called a musketeer.
