A 3d model based on a museum example of a sten like submachinegun in the Polish military museum in Warsaw, the submachinegun or “SMG” was made by Edward Sitek a member of the Polish resistance during the Nazi occupation of Poland in ww2 most likely by hand and out of scrap metal with minimal tools.
The design of the submachinegun is most likely based on the famous British Sten gun mixed with the Polish Mors smg, there is also from the looks of it some Russian ppsh 41 influence of the gun as the what could be a safety, fire selector or both look fairly similar to the ppsh 41s fire selector. A personal project that I’ve been doing in my spare time for about a year. I have learned many new things during this time, for example, how to use Unreal Engine 5 and Substance Designer. Also I repeated the basics of 3D pipeline I learned at XYZ School.
Most importantly, I managed to convey the mood with which the people of the post-Soviet space are picking berries. An old but reliable grandfather’s scooter, a couple of buckets and a good tovarisch nearby – everything you need for a “quiet hunt”.
For the terrain I used the “Simple grass chunks” by 3dhdscan and the “Grassy Ground” texture by Game Textures.
