Belonging to Captain N.A. Quicke, WWI. Long, dark, Khaki green jacket, with there being 4 buttons lining the front of the jacket with the inscription “Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry.” There are 5 pockets lining the front of the coat, 2 on either hip and 2 on either breast, all of which fasten with the same regimental buttons (with the one on the left hip being incredibly weathered to the point it is not distinguishable.) the 5th pocket is a concealed welt pocket that is within the belt band. There are 2 belt hooks on the back of wither hip and a large slit up the back of the garment to help aid movement. The jacket has been well worn, but looked after, evident through the inside lining on either arm pit. This item originates from the collection at Bodmin Keep Musuem, Cornwall, UK. Upper portion of a limestone statue of Thutmose III from Deir el-Bahri displayed in the Cairo Museum. The torso of the statue without the face was found in the early 20th century and now is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The face was found during excavations at Deir el-Bahri by the Polish Expedition in the 1960s and is in the Cairo Museum collections. Casts were made of each poriton of the statue and exchanged between the institutions. Today the original face and cast of the torso can be seen in Cairo and the original torso and cast of the face can be seen in New York.
Created from 113 images (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.7.5. Access to the back of the statue was difficult and repairs to the reconstructed mesh were made in Blender 2.92.
