The H-20 will be the first dedicated strategic bomber developed by China. The aircraft may enter service in the 2020s. H-20 is expected to be a flying wing with a range of at least 8500 km and a payload capacity of at least 10 tonnes. Defense analysts have noted several recurring features on these models, including serrated air intakes, cranked-kite wings, and foldable twin tail surfaces that can be switched between being horizontal tailplanes and V-tails.

Modeled in blender with a variety of techniques in High poly. Retoped in blender, UV’d using Rizom UV. Baked normals and textures done with substance painter.
This turned out to be a really good piece to demonstrate a lot of my techniques I’ve learned. Not only did I use many different techniques to make the high poly but its made of a lot of different materials of varying metalness and roughness.

Competing against Douglas and Martin for a contract to build 200 bombers, the Boeing entry outperformed both competitors and exceeded the Air Corps’ performance specifications. Although Boeing lost the contract (to the Douglas B-18 Bolo) because the prototype crashed, the Air Corps ordered 13 more B-17s for further evaluation. From its introduction in 1938, the B-17 Flying Fortress become the third-most produced bomber of all time, behind the four-engined Consolidated B-24 Liberator and the multirole, twin-engined Junkers Ju 88.
