The Singer kl. 15-30 sewing machine was designed for use in homes and in small sewing workshops. The body and plinth of the machine were made of cast iron covered in black lacquer. The entire machine was richly adorned with decal patterns named Gingerbread or Tiffany. The heavy arm of the machine was placed in a model 22 wooden cabinet. The richly decorated, Victorian-style cabinet doubled as a piece of furniture when the machine was not in use.
