The Light Amphibious Assault Warship is the US navy litoral transport, design to transport up to 3x60 tons tanks to shore, LAAW is large enough to land a medium helicopter; can be fitted with additional containerized weapons in place of is transport cargo. The LAAW has several advanced naval design features. The entire crew cabin can be retracted below the ships hull reducing the radar and target profile of the LAAW, its mast can also be retraced to lower its overall height allowing it to sail under low bridges and narrow sea lanes. The ship is armed with four remote weapons stations that can mount various light and medium caliber cannons. The LAAW is also equipped with the AN/SLQ-59 Electronic warfare system which can jam radar guided anti-ship missiles and is highly effective, the ship also mounts the EOSS optical tracking system which can detect targets up to 4km away. Combined this gives the LAAW excellent situtation awareness in litoral waters.

The Light Amphibious Assault Warship (LAAWS), also known as the Guadalcanal Class, is the primary ship-to-shore connector for the US Navy. Its purpose is to transport US Marines and their equipment to islands alongside larger helicopter assault ships and landing docks.
There are two variants of the LAAWS: Block I and Block II, measuring 160m and 190m in length, respectively. Block I can accommodate 100 Marines and their equipment for up to 6 weeks at sea. Block II features a hangar for launching and recovering helicopters, UAVs, and USVs. It is also equipped with double the number of Vertical Launch System (VLS) cells.
The LAAWS is heavily armed, with 32 or 64 Mk41 VLS cells, 2x 57mm cannons, 12x mounts for M2 heavy machine guns, one or two SeaRAM CIWS systems, and 4x Harpoon anti-shipping missiles. The ST-W48 blaster was a blaster used by the Sith troopers of the Sith Eternal army.
The weapon could be used in a blaster rifle configuration or a blaster carbine configuration where the stock was removed for use in confined spaces. Each ST-W48 had a quarrel-bolt launcher installed below its barrel that used enhanced bowcaster technology for a powerful explosive attack. An update of my old low poly TIE fighter model, with windows cut in and a low poly interior, complete with pilot, added- adds a ton of depth and realism. None of it is meant to hold up in closeups, but it looks great from afar. The whole thing is ~5.5k tris, so if you want a hangar full or a fleet of them, it won’t slow down your scene. Perfect for all your imperial needs!
PBR textures made in Substance Painter. The exterior is 2k, the interior is 1k, the pilot is 512x512.
Cutting in the windows a couple years after the outside model was done made for some very messy topology around them, but the overall ship is still low poly enough, and no one will notice. The glass is also currently single-sided, just to be more performant than trying to have glass with thickness and refraction. A low poly Skipray Blastboat, from the Star Wars expanded universe / Legends. This older imperial ship featured a rotating wing, and in the post-OT era more often than not appeared with in rusty brown tones, often operated by bounty hunters or pirates, so I’ve included 2 different colorschemes with this one, aas well as a cockpit interior.
I followed the top view proportions and scale of the original design, but I was curious to try a more streamlined look, with the front wings better integrated into the fuselage. I made a few other changes and also swapped on a turret inspired by the imperial troop transport as seen in The Mandalorian. The old official model was called a GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat, you could think of this as a slightly more lightly armed GAT-10 design, better at atmospheric flight. Still instantly recognizable by any EU fan! A ship from the ’90s Expanded Universe, the I7 Howlrunner was a small starfighter developed by Incom Corporation (the same manufacturers as the X-wing) for the Empire. Probably best-known from the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, I stayed pretty faithful to the design, but made a couple of angles slightly more exciting and a little less boxy.
Out-of-universe, the ship’s design is probably an homage to the Buck Rogers Thunderfighter, concepted by Ralph McQuarrie, who also worked on Star Wars’ fighters. I wanted to make sure my version felt Star Wars-y enough, so I textured it in an extremely similar to the style of the OT X-wings. I hope you enjoy this slightly obscure ship model!
