Originally a much simpler asset, I began creating this model in Blender as a simple exercise before deciding to take the project further by improving the geometry, texturing and overall design of the asset. This included adding barbwire which initially was easy to make, but became extremely tedious when implementing changes and so I created a custom generator tool to improve iteration time and with considerably more accuracy. This was then baked in Marmoset and later textured in Substance Painter, using two materials with 4K texture sheet (using overlapping UVs to maximise quality) and a non-destructive workflow for fast iteration, then finally rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 3. I started on this a while ago and then forgot about it, but, thankfully to The LORD, I found it again.
This is actually the first half. I had to split it into two parts for performance reasons.
It’s got 38 different cylinders for kitbashing. Sci-fi themed. Some of them pretty basic. Others a bit more complex. Feel free to take a thorough look before you download them and see how it looks.
They have no textures or materials, and have not been properly UV unwrapped.
Also, I made use of Blender’s auto-smooth feature for the object normals. I don’t know if that feature is present in other software.
