  Saddle Up 3D Model 2024-04-02
My entry for the February Challenge of Frontiers. Here we have a cowboy on his way to discover what lays beyond what his eyes can see in the desert. I wanted to take a lower poly and stylized approach to this model, and make it look like a drawing rather than a 3D model. I modeled this in Maya, and with the exception of a few meshes I threw into Substance Painter for opacity, assigned lambert materials for most of the colors 3d model

With this being my second finished 3D model, I feel incredibly motivated to continue my journey of getting deeper into 3D modelling. Even though it can be very frustrating - being confronted with a problem that you can’t fix at first - I’ve found myself gain some more knowledge of working with programs like Blender with this model and I’m really happy how it turned out. My Wild West cowboy is finally finished and I absolutelly love the result! It took me some time to get this as perfect as possible, especially the colours were quite the challenge with this one. For my final assignment character creation I went to the whole pipeline from high poly sculpt to a game-ready, textured model.
