A weapon I designed for the Prosthetic Art Challenge by VaatiVidya on Youtube. The Kuru-Kiru, also known as Spring-loaded War Fans A ranged device designed to swiftly close the distance between the target. When launched, the adjoined fans create a whiplash effect, cutting consecutively which causes heavy bleeding. The momentum caused by the steel fans affect the user, carrying them swiftly forward. Utilizing this device, a shinobi can perform farther plunging takedowns. When coming up with the weapon idea, I was thinking of what weapons are already in the game, and what I could come up with that would differ from those. Two Komainu #3 (Guardian Lions) from Shinto Shrine
A pair of stone lion-dogs often flank the sandō near the entrance to the shrine or the haiden. These komainu, as the statues are known, are guardian figures believed to protect the space around the kami from evil.
The ultimate origins of these lionlike figures probably extend back to ancient India or even Egypt, but the more immediate source would appear to be Chinese. Guardian lions and other divine beasts were probably imported from Tang China, along with Buddhism, via the Korean Peninsula, accounting for their alternate name, kōrai-inu, or Korean dogs.
Most komainu closely resemble the so-called Chinese lion-dog. Typically, one of the creatures is depicted with its mouth open and the other with its mouth closed. I started on this a while ago and then forgot about it, but, thankfully to The LORD, I found it again.
This is actually the first half. I had to split it into two parts for performance reasons.
It’s got 38 different cylinders for kitbashing. Sci-fi themed. Some of them pretty basic. Others a bit more complex. Feel free to take a thorough look before you download them and see how it looks.
They have no textures or materials, and have not been properly UV unwrapped.
Also, I made use of Blender’s auto-smooth feature for the object normals. I don’t know if that feature is present in other software.
