Dressing Table inspired by the Victorian era, It comes together with a matching stool. Model was created in 3DSMAX, details added in Zbrush and 2048x 2048 textures created in Substance Painter. It is scaled to a standard human shaped dummy of about 180cm/5.9 feet.
This piece is given a bit of a distressed look, different color layers including grey, white, eggshell and black were added to give it a modern spin. It is a static piece, shelves do not open, but there is a stylized mercury mirror to compensate for it. This prop is a redisgned water gun inspired by firefighters. The design is also remarkably similar to flamethrowers. I was inspired to make it an Overwatch weapon, but realistic. I imagined a character that used a WWII style flamethrower, but modernized of course.
I went a little far with the initial blockout and moving straight into the highres was a lot of cleanup work. I ended up making more fluid straps so the model was more dynamic. I struggled with cleanup when trying to make the game res, but in the end it got where it needed to be. I’m happy with how the floating geometry baked. The textures needed to feel like propane tanks or fire extinguishers. I got some great feedback to fix the contrast and realism, I’m very happy with where this has gone so far.
