This is a 3D animation of the gecko Lupersaurus macgregori. This 3D mesh was created by integratring a CT-scan of a preserved male specimen with images and video from other live individuals. The creation of this model was done in collaboration with Matt Heinicke, Tony Gamble and Cameron Siler. Creation of this model was supported by NSF grant NSF DEB-1657527). CG artist Johnson Martin created the model. Juan Daza kindly provided us with the CT-scan.

In an effort to fully absorb and capture the Gearbox look with the Borderlands series and enrich my character portfolio, I chose to model out an unused NPC concept from the Borderlands 3 art book by Sergi Brosa. Very minimal guidance was given to me from Gearbox besides what limitations their current engines may be able to support and I pulled apart various character work to see how optimization could benefit a character.
I optimized this character to have customizable character design to alter symmetry options and enable re-use of character elements for other NPC characters. HCAR or if you have lots of time to say it: Heavy Counter Assault Rifle is sort of a “spiritual” younger brother of classic Browning Automatic Rifle( M1918A3 ) with lots of modern tacticool stuff slaped all around it.
Even if gun look really nice, and as far as I know and read, its shoot well, it wasnt really a sucess and lots of people have weird hatred toward it due to being pricy and only semi-auto…
But in games and animations this gun look really nice, and we can set it to full auto without any problem so its nice addition to any project that need some fresh big caliber gun :]
