This is a 3D scan of a cockroach I bought on etsy. It's part of a larger project where I combined 3D modeled assets with photogrammetry (see http://whatswrongwithwhite.tumblr.com/image/177884973392 ). I used a lot of custom photo equipment (macro lens, polarization filters, extension tubes and a 3D printed cockroach holder from shapeways). For cleanup I used blender (cleaning up holes, chopping up into body parts, modeling deatils). For the final material design and export Substance Painter did a great job. I’ve created this model in my spare time. It’s baked from high-poly model, sculpted in Zbrush and retopologised in Maya. This model contains out of 23640 triangles (21516 for moster model). Textures made in Substance Painter. The texture pack includes Base color, Roughness, Height and Normal maps.
You can download this model for free. It’s not rigged and it’s not in t-pose so it’s free. You can use this model for your project, or just to see how it’s made. You can’t use it for remake and reselling it as it is!
