Requested by Charlemagne, Aachen Cathedral was founded in 8th Century in Aachen (Aix-la-Chapelle), Holy Roman Empire, now in Germany. Coronations of many Holy Roman Emperors took place here. The central part under the dome was a part of Charlemagne's Palace, named Palatine Chapel. It is the only well preserved part of the palace left from the Carolingian era, and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many extension building works were executed over the centuries, resulting in this peculiar appearance of the Cathedral with mixed architectural styles. About the model Texture: parts of the stone facade & relief texture, parts of stone window frames, parts of dome roofs, railing, roof toppers are modified from artworks for Canon's papermodel by K.Yoshinaka / STpers. As for my own texture, I focused more on roofs, stained glass windows, sculpture relief details. About the model

The original structure was built in 1904 according to the design of the architect Nikolay Zhukov and has undergone some reconstructions since then. It was also sometimes called “Tatar Mosque” because its congregation consisted mainly of ethnic Tatars. Socially, the Moscow Congregational Mosque was often viewed as the central mosque in Russia. It was one of the four mosques in Moscow. The old mosque was demolished on 11 September 2011. The decision to demolish it was controversial.[1] In June 2008, the mosque was recognized as an object of cultural heritage, however, in the end of 2008 it was removed from the list of historical and architectural monuments. A new mosque has been built at the site of the former one. Bari Cathedral, or Cathedral of Saint Sabinus, is the cathedral of Bari, in Apulia, southern Italy. The cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto, as it was previously of the archbishops, earlier bishops, of Bari. It is dedicated to Saint Sabinus, a bishop of Canosa. The present building was constructed between the late 12th and late 13th centuries, mostly in the last thirty years of the 12th century, and was built on the site of the ruins of the Imperial Byzantine cathedral destroyed in 1156 by William I of Sicily known as the Wicked. Stylistically, this is an important example of Apulian Romanesque. It eventually led to a cast paper installation where I used a modified version of this model to rout a model out in insulating foam, then take a mould in plaster and finally cast in paper pulp.
