The goal of this project was to recreate Johnny, matching the art style of the original game and capturing the likeness of Keanu. My inspiration behind making this project was being a big fan of Johnny (and also of Keanu) and wanting to make a character that would really push my abilities in the creation of skin, hair, clothing and hard surface. Made as part of my final major project for my degree in computer games art. I modeled this from the ground up to be a mix between the Lazer’s more quirky elements such as the perculiar placement of the airbrakes and the F-16’s characterisic shape and details such as the bubble canopy. The Model was built and animated in Blender while the textures were made using GIMP.

During the process I used Zbrush for the blocking, 3Ds max for the UVs and some of the modeling, Substance Painter for baking and first texture pass, 3D coat for retopo and final texture painting and Photoshop for final texture polish.

I took major inspiration from Kiriko(Overwatch) for this mask. A lot of parts on this mask are emissive, tried to make it look as cyberpunk as I could. the pink areas all have a carbon fibre texture because why not.

The ones on the kunai, I had no idea what to write but I found something that said “The weak are meat;The strong eat” it was kinda funny in a cool way so I used it.
