This is just a fun model I made to practice my skills. The whip cream was something new for me. I made it using converted bezier curves in blender. It added quite a lot of polys but it looks good! I haven’t tried to tackle the caramel yet. I think the easiest way to do it would be a freeze frame of a fluid simulation, but I have never done anything like that before, so I’m leaving it for another time. I didn’t spend hardly anytime texturing so feel free to download, edit and use how you like. If you end up adding the caramel please let me know how you achieved it. Turns out it’s not that hard to achieve an authentic handpainted look. I’ve done a ton of researching and studying, and I’ve found a style that seems to really work when creating 3d ghibli-style scenes using Substance Painter. These techniques can be applied to basically any project. I’m really looking forward to improving the process later on this month. This is going to be an ongoing series where I explore different texturing techniques you can use to achieve an anime aesthetic, so make sure to sign up before the price goes up!
