Here you can see a vulcan-kaiju. When they are on the hunt they wait curled up as a mountain and break out as soon as their victims come within range. Modeled and animated in Blender and textured in SubstancePainter. The Kaiju was created for the Sketchfab September Challenge. In the blend file, the rig is divided into different layers. So you can work with it easily. It also has a complete IK rig that works with different contraints to enable the animations shown here (CopyLocations and ChildOf). The model has a multiresolution modifier that is currently overridden by the Simplify - so you have access to the HighRes model. I wanted the entire scene to feel like the cover of a vaporwave album, and even added some music to fit in with the scene. Hope you guys enjoy the different take on it.

As for edits, I applied a lot of noise while lowering contrast and harshly color balancing it to fit with the blown out vaporwave colors. I also applied some emission and chromatic aberation to add a distorted light effect.
Truly a fun experience to see what exetremes can be done with the 3D editor!

A little sad that that the lil mouse necromancer (Necro-mouser?) sadly didn’t make the final model, but I’ll definitely be updating this asset with him in!
Despite having a nightmare (aka losing all my texturing the night before!) I tried to work through it and still get my submission done in time, and I’m really pleased with the results! This was an area I wasn’t very confident in (sculpting especially) and so I’ve learnt tons this last week! I’m hoping to be more involved in future challenges as I enjoyed this one tons!
