The Panel of the Four Horses contains one of the most evocative works of paleolithic art. Carbon 14 dating of the charcoal in the paintings dates the panel at between 30,000 and 32,000 years BP. The panel is famous for its horses, however, it is a long and sophisticated compostion that uses subtle undulations in the rock wall as part of the compostion. Though that number may change due to investigations in the future.
Abukuma cave is presumed to have its limestones crystallized approximately 80 million years ago (the latter cretaceous period).
