Yunnan Province, China, ~518 million years old. One of the largest of the Chengjiang animals, Amplectobelua was a top predator that used wide body flaps to swim above the sea floor, helped by a stabilising tail fan, with large stalked eyes used to spot prey. It had two spiny frontal appendages for grasping and holding prey, with three pairs of shorter tooth-like appendages used to shred food as it was passed towards the mouth opening. The lagerstätte in China is an El Dorado for paleontologists and evolutionary biologists: more than 1000 specimens of Confuciusornis were found there. These findings provide valuable information on the evolution of birds.
Confuciusornis sanctus is Number 21 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in Hall 8 of the NHM Vienna.

Low poly reconstructed skeleton of the giant sauropod Dreadnoughtus schrani from Southern Patagonia, Argentina. Dreadnoughtus lived during the Late Cretaceous some 70 to 76 million years ago.
The missing elements have been filled in with my own sculpted bones based on other titanosaurs. Existing bones themselves have not been repaired. Only two vertebrae have been only very slightly uncrushed.
